On May 28, the Information Technology and Digital Transformation Agency under Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance held a meeting at the Ministry’s headquarters to review the development and pilot implementation of a shared AI platform for the finance sector. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyễn Đức Tâm and attended by representatives from the Ministry’s departments and agencies, together with FPT as the technology partner.
During the meeting, Nguyễn Việt Hà, Director of the Department of Information Technology and Digital Transformation , announced that after more than seven months of collaboration, FPT and the Ministry of Finance had completed the survey, development, and testing phases of a shared AI platform. The platform currently includes 11 AI applications supporting a wide range of critical functions across the finance sector and is expected to optimize workflows, support decision-making, and improve workforce productivity.

Starting in October 2025, FPT worked with the Department of Information Technology and Digital Transformation to conduct a survey of AI application needs across 23 units within the Ministry of Finance. The survey recorded 150 AI application needs, which were standardized into 80 business use cases and developed into 11 AI applications supporting management, administration, and operational functions.
The applications address a wide range of use cases, including information retrieval and question answering through the Ministry of Finance’s Electronic Information Portal and Public Service Portal, report summarization, legal document retrieval, internal operational support, 24/7 contact center assistance, domain-specific document question answering and document review.
To support the platform, FPT and the Department of Information Technology and Digital Transformation prepared a knowledge base containing more than 245,000 pages of electronic documents and over 11,000 legal documents. Currently, four of the platform’s seven priority applications are ready for deployment, while development of the remaining applications continues.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the AI platform will help leaders at all levels collect and analyze information more efficiently, improve decision-making quality, and strengthen monitoring, forecasting, and risk detection across areas including public finance, budgeting, taxation, and customs administration. The platform is also expected to contribute to data standardization, improve services for citizens and businesses, and ensure data security.
During the meeting, FPT demonstrated four AI assistants, including an AI assistant for the Ministry’s Information Portal and Public Service Portal, an AI-powered report generation assistant, an AI assistant for legal document review and question answering, and a 24/7 AI-powered call center assistant.

Representatives from the Ministry’s departments and specialized agencies praised the platform’s ability to support day-to-day operations and expressed interest in deploying it in production as soon as possible. Discussions also highlighted several important considerations for large-scale AI adoption, including information accuracy, regulatory frameworks, and data security requirements.
In his closing remarks, Deputy Minister Nguyễn Đức Tâm emphasized that AI adoption is both “necessary and urgent” for the Ministry of Finance’s digital transformation journey. The Ministry plans to launch a large-scale pilot beginning on June 1, 2026, while assigning the Department ò Information Technology and Digital Transformation to work closely with FPT to prepare the necessary infrastructure and ensure the platform operates safely and reliably.
The shared AI platform has been designed to maximize the use of existing infrastructure and technology investments, avoiding unnecessary duplication while enabling the development of specialized AI applications for highly specialized areas such as taxation, customs, and the state treasury.
With the goal of improving workforce productivity by 30–40%, the shared AI platform is expected to become an important tool in modernizing financial administration. Through its partnership with the Ministry of Finance, FPT continues to contribute its AI expertise and implementation experience to accelerate digital transformation and support the development of a modern, efficient, and data-driven public administration.
