The fiercely competitive retail sector compels businesses to continuously innovate and grow. Leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) for training high-quality human resources has become a strategy increasingly adopted by retail enterprises.

E-learning plays a crucial role in workforce training, particularly for companies with large employee bases and extensive business networks. However, e-learning often presents challenges in developing, compiling, and managing learner data, requiring substantial human resources.

The advent of AI technology, particularly Generative AI (GenAI), has addressed these limitations. It simplifies the creation of training systems and intelligently suggests, analyzes, and manages learner data.

Now more than ever, AI is being robustly applied by businesses in Learning and Development (L&D) to eliminate tedious, time-consuming tasks for curriculum designers while introducing engaging and innovative learning experiences for employees, resulting in more effective learning outcomes.

The retail sector, in particular, has aggressively integrated AI into workforce training. Given the industry’s characteristics—diverse products, large and widespread employee bases—the optimal solution for retail businesses is online training combined with AI-driven solutions. This approach simplifies training processes and reduces operational costs.

In Vietnam, Long Châu Pharmacy, a subsidiary of FPT Digital Retail JSC (FPT Retail), is one of the fastest-growing retail chains nationwide. The company has shared its success in implementing the AI-powered solution, FPT AI Mentor, to train over 7,000 pharmacists since 2023, describing it as an indispensable “assistant” in training.

FPT AI Mentor, integrated with the Zalo platform, allows pharmacists to access learning resources anytime, anywhere, through a “question bank” tailored to their knowledge and skill training in the pharmaceutical field. The question bank is personalized according to each pharmacist’s training roadmap. Simultaneously, managers or training departments can monitor progress with detailed statistics and reports, enabling support or adjustments as needed.

K&G Vietnam, a leading retail fashion powerhouse with brands such as Aristino, Insidemen, Kandoo, Kwin, and Bizs+, operates over 80 showrooms, serving millions of customers annually. The company has also begun adopting AI for training. K&G introduced AI Mentor into its Aristino Academy to professionalize the development of high-quality human resources, meeting the stringent demands of the market.

The FPT AI Mentor solution facilitates nationwide implementation for K&G Vietnam, offering cost savings, enhanced training efficiency, and increased employee self-learning capabilities. The company’s decisive investment in advanced technological solutions for workforce training sets a solid foundation for Aristino’s ambition to expand into international markets.

The FPT AI Mentor solution has garnered strong approval from retail entities due to its intelligent, modern features. It overcomes barriers to learning related to time, location, flexibility, and autonomy while providing managers with insights into each employee’s strengths and weaknesses. This enables tailored training programs aligned with individual competencies or strategic workforce planning based on employee strengths.

AI solutions, in general, are driving significant improvements in workforce quality, boosting productivity and enhancing business performance. On May 21, 2024, experts in HR, training, and AI technologies will engage in an in-depth discussion during a webinar titled “Applying AI in Training and Enhancing Workforce Quality”, addressing practical solutions to pressing challenges in this domain.
